Why are the powers-that-be taking more notice of a computer model, than of actual discovered facts? Sounds a bit like the AGW controversy - they're relying on a computer model too, rather than discovered facts.

From experience. I know this stuff is like a very very powerful sandblaster. The slightest damage to the turbine fans will seriously affect its economy.. Never mind all the windward parts...very expensive.
I think its a good thing. The more fear of travelling. The less will travel. Its world travelling at little effort and cost which has helped us get in the state we are in. I hope there are plenty here now who feel cut off and homesick :)
