MICKEY MOUSE TEACHING

The extravagence of teachers spending taxpayers money on so called educational trips even in these times of economic difficulties seems to know no bounds. The "educational" trips to Disneyland which cost about £500 for each teacher not counting flight and luxury hotel costs have even shocked SOME Labour councillors. The trips were of course taken in school time as teachers holidays are not long enough to fit these trips in and in any case they were work. The total costs for the four teachers from Abraham Guest school plus an unspecified number from the Deanery must run into several thousands of pounds. On top of that perhaps supply teachers had to be taken on to cover for the absent "working" teachers.
I know of schools in the area who lack books and other essential equipment but evidently this visit to Florida is more important than Maths, English and Physics.
As shown in the cutting below the course is full of meaningless jargon incorporating the word "skills" which is always a give away for PC nonsence. Knowledge is what schools should provide. You get "Skills" later in the workplace.
Those who authorised this jolly shold be sacked for wasting taxpayers money.
Do they really think one pupil (not student) will benefit in the slightest or gain a better pass mark?
Oh, perhaps they will as most courses nowadays at school and even university are aptly called "Mickey Mouse" qualifications and are thus useless in obtaining a job
AND YOU WONDER WHY SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE ARE UNEMPLOYED.
I SUGGEST THESE TEACHERS JOIN THEM

* £300,000 went on the National Union of Teachers to "enable teachers to become global agents for change";
* £209,455 was spent teaching Derbyshire schoolkids about development; and
* £270,380 was doled out to "foster a new generation of media professionals with a more positive approach to development".

"GLOBAL AGENTS OF CHANGE" ?
Does that mean being instructed into how to brainwash our children with propaganda in our Schools ?

Scary.
