ELECTORAL TOP GEAR

Below is an article from this week's Wigan observer which highlights our push in Wigan and Leigh. The picture of me is at least 5 years old and although I have not improved with age and look a bit scruffy there, I was at the time working full time as a farmer and thus in my work clothes
One thing the picture does show on close inspection, I was wearing a Wigan Rugby League tee shirt so my claim to be a true Wiganer is borne out by the photo.
We have had a very busy week organising candidates and preparing our election campaign. Deposits have had to be given out to candidates over the North West and now it is leaflet time.

Fortunately we have had offers of help and we should be able to manage to put up a fair show in this mammoth task.
Parliamentary leaflets have been printed paid for out of local funds and will be delivered by the Post Office. These are the best we have produced and will lift our profile.
Our three parliamentary candidates are campaigning on our local origin. We have not been imposed on the area from on high in an effort to gain politiclly correct "diverse" MPs as our representitives.
This week I had a leaflet from the Tory candidate for Makerfield. An attractive looking woman but her name shows she is not of English descent. She will not be able to empathise with our concerns . She is at the bottom of the greasy Tory pole trying to shin up to power in that sham party which is trying to demonstrate its "diverse" credentials to the electorate.
She will not get in of course but it will make Cameron look good with his multiculti Metropolitan elite.
The Labour candidate, in line for a cosy job for life she hopes is also not local and has had her leaflets printed in Essex. No doubt she is on line with New labour and PC.
Wiganers and Leythers do NOT want to be diverse nor be used by the elite of the bigger parties to further their policies.
We need and want local people who have a bond to our area and will work to reverse the neglect of several decades. That is why I am standing for Wigan.
I believe in Wigan AND WILL DO THE JOB FOR NOTHING. I want to put something into Wigan, NOT TO MILK THE TOWN.
Yes I can afford to do so but so can many MPs in all parties BUT THEY DONT.
Do these other candidates really care about our town? I doubt it.
WELL I DO, and I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

The Sad Passing of Common Sense
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children

He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself
