When I was a kid during WW2 times were hard for many people. Food was rationed and the standard of living was MUCH lower for everybody.
I was lucky as my dad was a doctor but if children had to live as we did now they would be considered very deprived.
Many people in the village were poor but I NEVER heard them say that they needed enrichment. More money or less arduous work perhaps but we were a tight knit community who did not look kindly on "immigrants" even from neighbouring towns.
We had no wish to be vibrant and diverse BUT we knew who our neighbours were and could leave our doors unlocked.
We were at ease with ourselves , had a community spirit and earned our keep.
Yes the standard of living has increased greatly but we have lost something, our sense of cohesion and community.
The increased affluence was not due to diversity it was due to our own efforts, in spite of the efforts of the wealthy and bankers to cream off more than their due and what they were worth.
We could have had the better standard of living without diversity and retained our identity and community spirit if we had been allowed.
In this so called democratic society we were never asked whether we wanted diversity or the draconian laws against free speech.
If we had been asked I know we would have replied WE DON'T WANT IT. You can have a homogenous society and still have a high standard of living as Japan and South Korea have. BUT WE WERE NEVER GIVEN THE OPTION.
Someday we will regain our land in spite of the internationalists. How I do not know BUT WE WILL.
It could be peaceful or bloody, it's up to them but our England WILL be ours someday.

But Charles, I'm British!

No your not Dr Hill.
Britain is not a country, what COUNTRY were you born in?
Britain ?
tut Dr Hill.
For a Dr you seem to swallow this Lib/Lab/Con sentiment of being BRITISH.
If any Tom Dick or Abdul can call themselves British when they are Born in FOREIGN COUNTRYS what does that say about BRITISHNESS and your fellow British Countrymen ?
I suppose you could call yourself a Native of the British ISLES.
I was born in ENGLAND therfore I am ENGLISH.
And PROUD.
And as Charles has stated, ENGLAND WILL PREVAIL.
Dear Silly Kuffar (12:47hrs),
No I'm British!
As you rightly point out England is a country, so is Scotland, while Wales is a principality and Northern Island a province. Together these four make up my Nation, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island.
My Great Grandfather was Scottish. My Nan's father was a South Wales coal miner. My mother's side of the family were all Lancashire mill workers and Liverpool seamen. To put it in a nutshell: I'm British First last and always. Now that doesn't mean I don't like being English (which I am also of course) I do, and obviously they are in no-way mutually exclusive. But as I said firstly above all I'm British.

One last thought:
You said:
"And as Charles has stated, ENGLAND WILL PREVAIL."
I say:
It's more likely to be a case of divide and conquer, if we don't stand together as one nation.
England takes the brunt of everything. London especially so considering the Corporation of London's control over Her. Of course, when times are good, London usually benefits immensely but only due to the shit dribbling down from the thieves in suits.
Money still available if you can rent our your spare room to a 'foreign' (outside the M25) MP who doesn't mind 'bending the rules'... we still excel at that... sadly.
Personally LP, I'm just against mass immigration, not the trickle it once was.
I can understand aiding those who come here legitimately but it should be on the basis of compatibility more than anything else.
Also, we do have a world history and that does mean honouring our duties to our kin across the seas.
Of course, we shouldn't be handing over billions but the Commonwealth should be so much more than a meeting point of genocidal maniacs. Sure Blair was at the last one.
Again though, must stress, the Mother Country is the most important aspect of our Defence.
If the Falklands fell, we in Britain could free them.
If Wales was invaded, we in England could drive them back.
But if England becomes splintered and falls, there will be no Union in the Shires, let alone the rest of Blighty and Her world.
Yet the war waged against our people today is so much more convert. Whereas your good self suffered bombs and an empty belly, today we suffer the gangs and an empty soul.
Apologies for the waffle, glug glug tonight. I blame work.
Chris, I was speaking for myself.
I am almost 100% English going back up to 400 years af traced family tree. There may have been a bit of illicit Scottish blood introduced about 1830 but apart from that I'm PURE ENGLISH.
My daughters have a bit of the "mick" in them as does my wife but ask them what they are and they say English.
If you have lived in England and most of your genetics are English you are English.
But then the MOST important thing is how you feel, where your allegience is and under those criteria I am English.
That is not to say that I consider my friends with surnames which might indicate an Irish or Welsh ancestry are any less English.
Anybody can get a British passport but they are not necessarily English.
Tell a man from Wales he is British and not Welsh or an Irishman he is not Irish he will tell you where to go.
Yes I accept that united we stand in international affairs but my identity is not only English but Wigan Lancastrian English (even though my mother came from the wrong side of the Mersey, and it is ones identity and feeling that matters.
Lanky...why don't you pop over to Cllr.Ash's blog? There's a request for help in finding families who are Wigan Born and Bred?
No doubt the researchers are of the fluffy liberal headed (Just like Cllr. Ash) type, but, a great opportunity nonetheless to get it straight from someone as you Lanky.

Are you from round here? Maybe you can help me...
I want to collect the stories of the everyday lives of Wigan families, why they have stayed in Wigan, why some have moved away. Following down the different generations to see what stays the same and what changes (for example, more of the younger generations go to university). How do family stories change and get passed on, where ‘a member of my family’s probably lived in this street since the turn of the century’ does this put pressure on the younger generation to stay put (as can happen on family farms)?

so you scottish Grandmother was not Scottish but British ?
Your Great Great Grandfather was not a Welshman he was British ?
Don't quite make sense, that your willing to give your ancestors their Ethnicity but deny yourself your Ethnicity.
But that's upto you Chris.
I prefer to stand my ground and sing it loud and proud I am ENGLISH.
Though with a fair bit of Irish thrown in.
I can't say i'm Irish as that would be like a Pakistani saying he was British.
But as long as your happy that's all that matters.
I am a Native of the British Isles but in Ethnicity I am an ENGLISHMAN.
Dear Silly Kuffar (10:09hrs),
You said:

I say:
But that's the whole point, Welsh Scottish English or Irish (I know many would disagree that I can included that last group), we are British. To be British you must be in at least one of the above designations. I am English, but first and foremost I'm British. No ifs ands or buts about it!

If the Irish,Scottish and Welsh do nothing then they are going to continue being subjugated.
Like they are doing to England and the English.
TOGETHER and UNITED against the the lib/Lab/CONS, the BRITISH must be VICTORIOUS, but what will the Irish, Scottish and Welsh do without the English?
England would probably struggle to go it alone now as their are too many Immigrants with Marxist Traitors pulling strings in HIGH-PLACES.
Unless the BRITISH ARMY intervene it looks like it's going to be a pretty one-sided Civil-War.
I wonder how many Arms have been smuggled into the COUNTRTY using diplomatic bags, suitcases, holdalls, boxes, shipping containers?
