SUCCESS IN LEIGH AND HYDE

Our Wigan and Leigh group held another successful meeting last night in Leigh.

The meeting was opened by Gary Chadwick followed by the break with hot pot provided by the landlord after which I gave a talk on the lines of "Where We Stand" basically to explain our policies to new attendees and counter the falsehoods spread by the media. This was followed by a question and answer session.

Judging by the reception of the audience and its size, it seems that Leigh is a fertile area for our party and we will seek to expand there in the coming months.

I can understand people who do not know us being influenced by our many enemies in the media and I tried to redress this. I remember being somewhat nervous at attending my first meeting and being very favourably impressed by the members and the moderation of the Party's policies.

The three main parties are united in their opposition to us in spite of being nominally opposed to each other. Their onslaught against us over the last weeks in Hyde showed that there is no difference between them, and they want to preserve their cosy consensus and policies which have led to our financial and social disaster.
They must have had a limited effect and boosted the Labour vote at the expense of the Tories, Lib Dems, Greens and most of all UKIP who only got 33 votes as against our 889.

In spite of their efforts we boosted our share by 2% to nearly 30%,coming second and with more votes than the combined votes of the other four non Labour parties.

WELL DONE HYDE!
Our party, a small party derided as having no future or "no place" in British politics seems to be causing them much concern. The threat of our advance was mentioned on Question Time, This Week and today on Channel 2.
WE REALLY DO PUNCH ABOVE OUR WEIGHT!

Indeed Lanky!

Another excellent turnout it was last night and additionally with a good mixture of both young and those a little older.

Personally, I'm very optimistic about the British National Party here in Leigh and I foresee future success here. Us Leythers see things in a very simplistic manner; we either agree or disagree and don't go for any kind of mode, mean or medium. It's as simple as that! When we hear the crap that Leigh's own Government Minister Andy "Burn em all" Burnham spews, the good men and women of Leigh are repulsed by this arrogance and lack of tact with the still hard working class he supposedly represents here in Leigh.

The last time he had shit in his fingernails wasn't through hard graft like the rest of us Leythers! No, it was through wiping the arses of Blair and Brown the cowardly bigot!!

Dear Charles,

The party needs to improve its public image. So to that end, comments which contain foul language should not be allowed through on a local blog. We simply need to be better than that.

I would hope the main purpose of this blog is to advance the local party in its local community. Local people need to be shown that the image the mass media try to paint us with (ie yobs in suits), is a total distortion of the truth. Ask yourself is the comment above by 'Leigh, Lancashire Nationalist' helpful in removing that image from the public's mind.

This comment will not make me popular, at least within some circles of the Wigan group, and I don't want to be rude to anyone, but please at least consider my point. Advancing the cause of our people must come before our own feelings or popularity.

Maybe the language should have been a bit less blunt while retaining the same meaning. However it did not undermine our efforts by attacking our party leader as some others have done.
The Hyde and other results show we are on the right track.

Dear Charles,

I apologise for the tone of my comment, I meant it only to be helpful and constructive.

I will apologise if the tone was a little strong for some, and I will ask that Lanky remove the post if deemed to be unsuitable.

But, those of you who know Leigh at all, will realise that a spade is spade here and talking anything other than the blunt truth cut's no ice with these hardy folks.

I do actually detest the use of foul language in public and certainly when women and children are present in particular and I do step in where appropriate, but that said, as I said in the above, if I tried to be anything other than who I really am then the people of Leigh will see through my facade.

If you are offended, then once again, I apologise.

Dear Leigh, Lancashire Nationalist,

Please accept that in posting my comment above my intention was to protect the image of the party from the possibility that a posting may be used as ammunition for our opponents to attack us with. We are painted by some as Yobs in suits, and I simply feel we should be doing everything we can to show that up as being nothing more than the scurrilous lie it is.

Dear Anti-gag,

By using the odd expletive in my first post........

EXPLETIVE [iks-plee-tiv]

Noun:
an exclamation or swearword expressing emotion rather than meaning.........

.......I think it's nothing more than the definition suggest's in this case Anti-gag.

Dear Leigh, Lancashire Nationalist,

Once again please accept that in posting this comment my intention is to protect the image of the party.

One man's 'Expletive' is another man's 'Obscenity':

Obscenity (in Latin obscenus, meaning "foul, repulsive, detestable"), is a term that is most often used in a legal context to describe expressions (words, images, actions) that offend.

Please believe me I am in no way suggesting that you don't have a right to express yourself in anyway you chose (it is your blog after all), but we are painted by our enemies as Yobs, and I simply feel we should be doing everything we can to dispel that image. The comment section of the Lancaster UAF blog is full of foul language (which I think is an indication of the type of person who supports that organisation), let's simply be better than that. To coin a much used over used phrase 'family values' should be our aim.

My comments as always are meant to be constructive, and are not meant as an attack on any member of the Wigan Group.
