NEW FORMAT.

I am trying out a new template for my blog as the original one it seems was the same colour as Gary's toilet paper. I hope readers find this easier to read. Please let me know if you don't like it.

THANKS GORDON BROWN!

Last week my wife and I received our combined heating allowance of £300. People have said previously that I really should not receive this money as I heat my house for nothing having enough coal and logs to heat my house for the rest of my life. They have suggested I give it back for the sake of the country and I seriously thought about it until I realised it would go into the bottomless pit of waste of this government.

Today I thought of a way to repay my country for my good fortune . I have donated the money to the BNP to help secure the future of my grandchildren in their country.

So GOLDEN GORDON in his generosity has in effect DONATED TO THE BNP, and I have had the pleasure of diverting his largesse to the Party.

I'M SURE HE WOULD BE PLEASED.

Hi Charles,

Can I suggest a background colour of light grey or something similar. This will make reading easier on the eyes.

Charles - I prefer it the way it was. I've also been told the same privately.

Chris, it was just fine the way it was.

Hi Morg,

Just take a look at the Liverpool blog. The presentation is much better than in the Wigan blog ( I accept that Wigan beats practically all our other local blogs on content).

This presentation is important if you are going to get the general public to read the blog (ie use it to win votes and recruit new members). This may seem trivial but a good presentation is 50% of the battle for readership. It shouldn't be, but it is!

As it's not that well known yet, I doubt if this blog gets over 10 unique visits a day. So now is the time to experiment with both the presentation and to invite local guest authors from the Wigan group to contribute.

Can I suggest you write down your aims for the blog, ie. recruitment, vote winning at election times, keeping current local members informed about the groups activities etc. You may eventually need two blogs, one a glossy colour recruitment brochure (with once up and running will need only limited maintenance), and the local members and supporters site. Details of upcoming activities could be password protected to avoid giving ANaL notice of your intentions. The possibilities are almost endless. But as they say every journey starts with a first step, which Wigan BNP has already taken. Well done Wigan BNP.

Check out the Liverpool blog at: http://merseysidebnp.blogspot.com/

Remember keep it local.

PS.
If you want a banner, either in the style liverpool have or like the one used by our Lancaster blog (see http://lancaster-bnp-freespeech.blogspot.com/), just email me a photo and let me know what details you want on it, and I'll do it for you PDQ.

Chris - content is more important than appearance, provided it is readable. It was fine before, it isn't now.

I will comment no further on this matter - my opininon is known.

Yours is too. There is no more to be said from either of us.

Hi Morg,

Firstly changing the form back to how it was yesterday, before Charles tried this new format, is a 10 second job. Nothing lost there then is there?

Saying it's fine so don't let's try and improve things is (and I apologise for having to saying this) stupid and very short sighted.

Look around other group's blogs, don't you agree that at least some have a better look than Wigan's bog standard format. But that's fine, they have been around longer and evolution is part of life.

If after he's tried a few changes to the style Charles decides to return to the old format, what has been lost? Nothing!

The idea of these temp plates is to get blogs of the ground, then the idea is the develop. OK at the moment the presentation is fine for you, but can you really say that a undecided (and sometimes a slightly uninterested voter) would find it attractive enough to pull them into your readership.

Taking full advantage of the full potential of the internet will require both foresight and imagination, but it's a median we ignore at our peril.

Charles should be congratulated for trying to take the blog forward. Remember no pain no gain.

PS.
There's nothing to stop Wigan running two blogs (ie save the current blog under a different name and play around with that one) until you hit on a style everyone likes.

Hi again Morg,

You did tell me that you wanted a encourage comments from all sides of the political spectrum on this blog. OK this isn't exactly a political disagreement, but it's a start isn't it?

I cringe at some of my grammatical mistakes in that last posting. You know what they say: Post in haste regret at leisure!

Improve? Perhaps you are a Blair admirer Chris? He too thought 'change' and 'improve' are synonyms.

That's why Britain is in such an awful state.

Sometimes, YOU have to accept you might be wrong. You are here, and you were about the eportation of the families of terrorists. How the hell do you get people to behave? YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO LOSE. How do you give someone who's happy to die something to lose? The ONLY way is to find how to hurt what he really cares about - his mother, father, brothers, sisters. At worst, with that threat permanently hanging over them THEY will make an effort to control their young men. Unfair? So bloody what! It's hardly as unfair as getting blown to bits on your way to work. You are WRONG.

Oh, and while I'm a shitty enough mood to say it: another ting you need to ean is that you can't always have the last word.

And it's really fucking annoying to be repeatedly told that either ohers accept that you are right and they change their minds, or we agree to differ. Sometimes others are right and you should change YOUR mind.

And you're wrong about Griffin too.

Charles, change the blog back to what it was. Liverpool blog is very nice, and fine and dandy for Liverpool. We are NOT in competition with them or with anyone else.

Hi Morg,

Firstly I've been asked by Charles (very politely I may say) not to discuss the current situation within the party on this blog, so I'll have to ignore your comment about me being wrong about Mr Griffin.

As for the blog itself, all my comments are meant to be constructive, and I don't want anyone to think I'm running the Wigan blog down, but it needs a revamp if it is to become an efficient tool in either vote winning or recruitment.

If the idea of the blog is just to provide a platform for local members and supporters to read local stories, yes I agree the presentation is fine. But if you aspire to the higher objective of advancing the local group, then you need to give the blog a more attractive look. Personally it's not my blog, and I enjoy the local stories so I have no reason to comment except to add some suggestions into the discussion.

If Wigan doesn't like my ideas Wigan is quite at liberty to ignore them, I certainly won't be offended.

As for the idea that we'll just have to agree to differ then put up some reasonable argument and perhaps you'll be able to persuade me that you're right and I'm wrong.

Keep well

PS.
And if you think I'm wrong about Mr Griffin, why not post on the Lancaster blog explaining why I'm wrong.

Chris,

I am always a little wary of your true intentions when you comment on the Wigan Patriot Blog. On the one hand I do think you have a genuine soft spot for the Wigan BNP team, but, on the other hand I think you harbour quite a bit of jealousy Chris?

I think we have evolved quite steadily and rightly into a strong group and at the very most
and without sounding too arrogant Chris, I think we have done it well here in Wigan and Leigh with the excellent personnel we have at the helm, and this without too much outside influence.

To be honest Chris you had the chance to be a part of this team at one stage, yet you chose to take a different route when all the dust had settled. We harbour no true ill feelings as such, but please let the owners of this blog do their own thing without a one man crusade of criticism.

If anything I think you should concentrate on your own blog as I feel this could do with a lick of paint and maybe an update now and again!

Dr Chris Hill said...

Dear Leigh Lancashire Nationalist.

Please don't mistake admiration for jealousy. Wigan is indeed a very successful group, and I agree that has more to do with the Wigan members than our national leadership. Wigan certainly is bucking the national trend. And I for one salute the group leaders for that.

As for criticism, I like to think of my comments as being more on the lines of helpful suggestions, which of course Charles is quite at liberty to ignore.

I have always tried to add constructive and relevant comments to the local stories on this blog. The content makes this quite the best local blog we have, simply because the stories are mostly local. My concern is only with the presentation.

As for the Lancaster blog, I'm afraid Lancaster has no active group, or activities going on at the moment, so I have nothing to report on. I wish things were different but there not.

We have somehow missed the point of this particular post!

Well, done to Charles and Susan and not forgetting the ZANU-LABOUR! with the donation of their £300 fuel allowance to a very worthy and needy cause indeed.

Greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ps

Can we stick to commenting on the content of the actual post and stop spouting nonsensical drivel please.
