At least they were in a nice Westernised village. I'd take that over Peckham any-day. I'd even be the highest number possible if needs be.
The World planned for us plebs is one of deprivation and submission.
We're dragged screaming and kicking into this world only for others to keep dragging us, yet we learn that kicking and screaming never overcomes our parents and seeing that the State has the power of a parent over us proles, us adults are worse off than the kids.
As long as they have the monopoly of protecting this country and her inhabitants, we are Royally screwed.
