NEW POLL FORECASTS LIB/CON COALITION WILL NOT LAST.

Voters say the Lib-Con coalition government will not last full term


Just a month after David Cameron shook hands with Nick Clegg on the steps of 10 Downing Street, 52 per cent think their pact is unlikely to last the full term.

Voters aged 18 to 24 are the most sceptical – only 29 per cent think it will continue until 2015 compared with the overall average of 37 per cent.

The coalition has already been rocked by the resignation of chief secretary to the treasury David Laws over expenses claims and there are rumoured tensions between business secretary Vince Cable and chancellor George Osborne.


‘The scepticism reflects the fact that people don’t have experience of coalitions, particularly in England,’ said John Curtice, a politics professor at Strathclyde University. ‘People are pinching themselves – will this last?" [...]
