City Leaders Warn Of 'Civil Unrest' Amid Cuts

City leaders have warned that spending cuts could lead to social unrest and the "break-up of civil society".

The council leaders of three of England's biggest cities - Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield - say the north of England has been unfairly targeted.

But there are also signs of a backlash from rural authorities, mostly Conservative-led, who claim the shires are losing out disproportionately under the Government's cuts.

The criticism presents a headache for David Cameron, who announced in the Autumn Statement that councils must find a further 2% of savings in 2014/15.

That comes on top of the 27% cuts announced in 2010.

The Labour leaders of Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield - where Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is an MP - wrote to The Observer accusing Whitehall of "Dickensian" views.
"Rising crime, increasing community tension and more problems on our streets will contribute to the break-up of civil society if we do not turn back," they write.

"The one nation Tory brand of conservatism recognised the duty of government to help the country's most deprived in the belief that economic and social responsibility benefited us all.
"The unfairness of the Government's cuts is in danger of creating a deeply divided nation.
"We urge them to stop what they are doing now and listen to our warnings before the forces of social unrest start to smoulder."
Separately, The Sunday Telegraph reported that more than 120 rural councils were weighing up a judicial review of the spending settlement for local authorities because it was "grossly unfair" and would hit services in remote areas.

DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T TELL YOU IT WAS COMING.

 

A New Year approaches with warnings of Civil Unrest due to the cuts in their budgets. 

If the Lib/Lab/CONned hadn't flooded our country with millions of immigrants their would never be a warning about Civil Unrest due to the cuts.

"The Petition of Right at the beginning of the 17th century, and the Declaration of Right and Bill of Rights at the end, embody a century long fight to constrain the power of Government. At that time it was the Monarch who desired a divine right. Today it is our Parlimentarians. The Petition of Right and Declaration of Right are Common Law contracts between the People and the Crown. The Bill of Rights is a statue law enactment of the Declaration of Right.

The Declaration of Right was imposed upon William and Mary as a condition of their assuming the Crown - in other words, they would only be elected by the People if they accepted its terms.

The Declaration of Right, and the Bill of Rights, clearly state that -

no foreign prince, person, prelate, state, or potentate hath, or ought to have, any jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence, or authority, ecclesiastical or spiritual, within this realm.

So it can clearly be seen that every EU treaty imposed upon us by Parliament, is unconstitutional. Here is the evidence that our present Monarch has indeed broken her Coronation Oath, by giving Royal Assent to these treaties.

Other constitutional rights given by these contracts -

• The right to bear arms
• The right to petition the Sovereign
• Free men cannot be imprisoned without cause
• The Government cannot arrest any man because he disagrees with the Government’s policies
• Habeas corpus is not to be denied
• No person will be compelled to make loans to the King, and there will be no tax without the approval of Parliament
• Soldiers and sailors will not be billeted on civilians
• Government will not impose martial law during peacetime

The right to bear arms gives every person the right to self defence using reasonable force, including deadly force if appropriate. Using tragic events as an excuse to remove that right has historically been the work of governments with good reason to fear their people - governments intent on some kind of future totalitarian control of their populations."

Jamie Foxx: ‘Every single thing in my life is built around race’

 Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, snubbed this week during the Golden Globe  nominations for his leading role in the upcoming slavery-era revenge fantasy “Django Unchained” says “every single thing in my life is built around race.”

“Django Unchained,” directed by Quentin Tarantino, features Foxx as a freed  gun-toting slave on a revenge mission to hunt the men who sold his wife (played  by Kerry Washington) to an evil slave owner (played by Leonardo DiCaprio).

The movie, scheduled to open Christmas Day, is already generating controversy for its indelicate, and at times campy, treatment of slavery, as well as the amount of times the N word is used (by some counts, the word is used more than 100 times throughout the film).

In an interview in the December-January issue of Vibe, Foxx discussed how race plays into his job as an actor and how the movie is likely to be perceived among different racial  communities.

“When I get home my other homies are like how was your day? Well, I only had  to be white for at least eight hours today (or) I only had to be white for four  hours,” Foxx told Vibe. “Everything we do is that. When you’re talking about the  script, of course it’s going to be controversy,” he added.
Foxx says he’s anticipating some pretty sharp reactions to the movie,  especially from the black community.

“As black folks we’re always sensitive,” Foxx said. “As a black person it’s always racial. I come into this place to do a photo shoot and they got Ritz  crackers and cheese — I’ll be like, ain’t this a b—-. Y’all didn’t know black  people was coming. What’s with all this white s—? By the same token, if there  is fried chicken and watermelon I’ll say ain’t this a b—-? So, no matter what  we do as black people it’s always gonna be that. Every single thing in my life  is built around race. I don’t necessarily speak it because you can’t.”

The movie, conceptually at least, is not unlike Tarantino’s last revenge  fantasy, “Inglourious Basterds,” in which a group of Jewish American soldiers  hunt down Nazis. But Foxx is certain “Django Unchained” will be received  differently.

“I told (Tarantino), black people watch a movie different than white folks.  When you watch (‘Inglourious Basterds’), Jewish people have a more quiet  response. [WHISPERS]‘I can’t believe they did that.’ When black people don’t  like something it’s like: [LOUDER]‘Ay dawg, why Olivia Pope went down like that.  That s— is f—– up.’
“Because there’s certain things that we watch as black people that if we don’t agree with it, we not only turn off the movie but we turn off that person,” Foxx added. “When we feel like the character was compromised by the white establishment.”

But despite the controversy, Foxx maintained that it’s important for  Hollywood to continue to make movies about slavery. “Every two, three years there is a movie about the Holocaust because they want you to remember and they want you to be reminded of what it was,” Foxx  said. “When was the last time you seen a movie about slavery?”
Well I guess he should make it all about race. After all, about this movie he says, “I get to kill all the white people in this movie! How great is that?”

Imagine living your life focused on your race or gender? How utterly miserable one would be in seeing your life through just one prism? I doubt MLK, Jr. would approve.
