Further to Nick Griffin's blog yesterday on the employment of foreign workers in South West Lancashire and their effect on local employment I will give my take on the matter.
Although having worked in medicine I have also been a farmer for 50 years.
I know the area well and know the area round Ormskirk and Southport to be as fertile and more productive per acre than the Fens although being smaller and further from London this fact is not recognised.
Most sorts of vegetable crops are grown there includinc carrots, sprouts, leeks and lettuces and many more.
Thirty years ago they were also grown there and harvested by locals with far less mechanisation than now is the case, so why are so many foreigners, legal and illegal employed now?
It is said the crops would not be harvested without these people, so what's the difference?
In a word supermarkets. As these businesses have become larger they have gained a stranglehold on local producers becoming the monopoly buyers and insisting on ever lower producer prices. These latter were obliged to take the cheapest labour possible in order to survive. Once one farmer had this cheap labour others had to follow or go out of business.
Wages lower than the minimum wage could be paid. Workers are housed in cheap houses, many living in one house or even caravan, thus avoiding the costs that British workers incur such as rent and council taxes, let alone bringing up a family.
I know of a case of a Polish girl who became pregnant and returned to Poland and had all maternity benefits paid in Poland even though she had only been in this country a matter of months.
In another instance, when I retired from medicine I took cattle in to the local abbatoir each week. The owner, a nice man was unable to retain his staff as he could not pay them enough while in competition with other firms who employed immigrants.
One day perhaps 12 years ago when I took my cattle in he asked me if I would give a medical to a new worker. This man and his fellow Polish worker were housed in a caravan by the midden next to the slaughterhouse and therefore avoided the usual housing costs. Their meagre wages did not prevent one of them being prosecuted for drunkenness after purchasing vodka at a local supermarket.
This I did although the worker's inability to speak English made it difficult and there was no one to translate. I asked the boss how his new worker pronounced his name and he replied tongue in cheek "I dont think, looking at the spelling he can pronounce it"
The Polish men were OK and at the time the immigration tsunami had not started in earnest.
I did not realise that this was the start of a massive invasion of cheap labour. I suppose I was complicit in this although at the time I did not realise the seriousness of what was about to hit us.
So the question. How did we manage before and what benefit has this influx been to our people?
Well supermarket profits and margins have gone up as has their share price. Prices to the consumer have not gone down.
The benefits have been gained by big business like Sainsbury's and Tesco's and the losses have been sustained by our young people who languish on the dole, being unable to survive on the meagre wages these immigrants can survive on.
They say the British people will not work. They did before when they had the chance.These jobs were done by us 30 years ago and could be now.
Thus we all pay higher taxes to support them on the dole, the supermarkets make their profits and give generous donations to the Tories and Labour which in turn give them preference in planning permissions, further driving small firms out of business.
It is globalisation in microcosm in a small rural area. A portent of the furure for all people if not halted.
We are becoming units like chess pieces to be moved about at the will of big business.
So where is our freedom when multinational companies rule governments and their profits take precedence over the well being of the people?

WHO CONTROLS THE NUJ and the NUT?

It may go some way to explaining WHY the BNP will never get Fair Treatment and WHY the NEWS in the Papers and on TV and Radio is little more than PROPAGANDA.
And why Britains children are being dumbed down and Indoctrinated.
It doesn't say a lot but you need to view it as to who is working with who.
"BBC mass meetings against attacks on pay and pensions: The NUJ, BECTU and Unite have called mass meetings at BBC workplaces across the country.
The meetings have been angry, well attended, and have voted, in many places almost unanimously for a ballot for strike action. So far there have been meetings at Birmingham, Cardiff, TVC London, Bush House London, Bristol, Belfast, White City London, and Broadcasting house London. Last week we managed to put in a Socialist Worker leaflet to most of these workplaces.
This week we must try and revisit all these workplaces with the paper and an updated leaflet (which will be sent out), as well as getting down to leaflet the workplace meetings in Manchester (Thursday) and Glasgow (Wednesday).
Union leaders will meet on the 19th July at the NUJ headquarters in London to discuss outcome of mass meetings."

In Barnsley the trade’s council, NUT & UCU locally have already put on a coach to Birmingham while in Oxford the local Unison NHS branch has put on a coach. London Region UCU, Birmingham NUT, Islington Association of the NUT, Islington 6th Form Centre NUT have all passed motions of support for the 3 October demonstration in the last week.
Coaches are already booked South London, Central London, Hackney, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Dundee.
Affiliations continue to come in for RtW despite the summer holidays, East Cheshire Unison, Wigan Unison & Unite Staff Ericsson Coventry affiliated to RtW over the last week...
While the NUT's Christine Blower is calling for a representative from each school there is obviously room for a much greater mobilisation.
In EVERY SCHOOL.
Marxism has been deeply embeded within the Education system, Media, Local Governement, the Unions, etc.
No wonder they won't give us a level playing field. After all they decide what is shown and reported in Britains Newspapers and TV News.

Accrington forced marriage row pair locked up
TWO of three men involved in a confrontation with police and a social worker after a schoolgirl complained she might be being lined up for a forced marriage are behind bars.
Burnley Crown Court heard police were abused and ended up calling for back-up at a house in Accrington.
The social worker, who was threatened with death and racially insulted, said it was the worst incident she had ever had to suffer in her job.
Khalid Hussain, 24, of Ormerod Street, Accrington and Majid Hussain, 23, of Great Townley Street, Preston, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Mohammed Liaqat, 19, also of Ormerod Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to causing racially aggravated fear of violence.
Khalid Hussain, who was sent to jail for two years in April for another offence, was said by Judge Andrew Woolman to be ‘proving a trouble to the community’.
He and Liaqat were given four months in custody each.
Majid Hussain got four months in prison, suspended for two years with 120 hours’ unpaid work.
Sergey Prokofiev, prosecuting, said last August the girl was removed from her home and two police officers and the social worker went to speak to her relations.
Initial discussions seemed quite amicable but Liaqat claimed the girl was being held against her will and demanded she be returned to her family home.
Majid Hussain was vociferous in stating she had been in contact with her relations.
Mr Prokofiev said Hussain and Liaqat went towards the officers shouting abuse and they and the social worker got up to leave.
Khalid Hussain ran into the room with a mobile phone, insisting the officers see what was on the phone and was rude and aggressive.
The prosecutor said Liaqat approached the social worker’s vehicle, and said to her: ‘I am going to kill you.' He then made a cut throat motion.
Majid Hussain said the family was fed up because officers were not listening to them when they claimed the girl had been in touch.

I read yesterday that the expert Prince Charles has given a talk labelling climate change sceptics who doubt man made global warming as indulging in "pseudo science".
That is a bit rich for a "real" scientist like him who talks to his plants and believes in the much discredited homeopathy as a treatment, following the principle that the lower the dose of remedy the more powerful it becomes.
I did not realise he had a scientific training. I thought he took Art and History at the university, entrance to which was made easier to accommodate his lack of knowledge /intelligence.
I would have thought his opinions on such weighty matters as paintings or the wars his ancestors fought in and sometimes caused more appropriate.
I did have a scientific training in medicine preceeded by A levels (proper ones then) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology so I thought I would give my take on the matter, considering myself, possibly conceitedly more competent to interpret the data.
A FEW FACTS
1 The earth has become warmer since the "little Ice Age" in the middle ages. Previous to that it was warmer than now with farming in Greenland and grapes growing by Hadrian's Wall.
2 Sea levels do seem to be rising. However this rise is more marked in the Sout East than elswhere such as the North West of Scotland, where it appears to be falling. In fact much of the difference is because of the land tilting and nothing to do with sea level rises.
3 CO2 levels are rising but it is not proven that this is a cause of warming temperatures. Also our contribution to global CO2 levels is 2% so any measuers we take will have a negligable effect especially when China and India are increasing their CO2 output.
4 There are more icebergs forming off Greenland as the warmer temperatures increase sea evaporation in the tropics and snowfall at the poles and the Earth has a self regulating mechanism.
These are the basic facts of the science. The fact that bees are declining is because of a mite and nothing to do with rising temperatures.
The greatest danger to humanity is oil shortage as without oil the present world population can not be sustained. Oil is harder to get as is shown by the BP accident in the Gulf of Mexico.
With our rapidly growing population and increasing oil shortages starvation beckons in Britain, a far greater danger than a few inches of sea level rise.
The reason this agenda is being pushed is the huge amounts of money being made by the carbon trading scam. This fraud does not reduce the CO2 at all but the traders in these pieces of paper make £millions and we already pay for this in taxes on electricity and dearer British goods.
It just enables it to be produced at a subsidised rate in places such as China while our industries are penalised. It produces just as much CO2 to produce a car or television in China as it does here. It's just produced in a different place.
The irony of all this is that those who promote this "science" are usually those with the biggest carbon footprint, Al Gore and His Royal Highness. Private planes fly them round the world to discourage people from flying while their houses and cars consume massive amounts of energy.
Yes conservation of all things is good, landscape, raw materials and fuel but trading pieces of paper round the world will do nothing but ruin our country.
Together with the other things the State does that seems the intent.
I would suggest His Royal Highness sticks to his overpriced organic biscuits. That way he will harm nothing but the pockets of those foolish enough to buy them.

UNEXPURGATED LETTER RE NICK GRIFFIN'S VISIT
I see Nick's visit to Orrell has been published in the press with the usual howls of protest by the antidemocrats of the far Left and their sponsored thugs.
As I said I was asked for my comments and waited to see what was deleted .
I was pleasantly surprised by what they did put in the report but my barbs about the true hooligan nature of the "Wigan against Racism" group were omitted.
Of course they have to put the worst photo of Nick they can find to please their Common Purpose bosses, but they are pleased when something like this happens as it helps sell their publication which is usually devoid of news.
In spite of that it was fairer than usual.

BP lobbied UK over Libyan prisoner transfer case
(Reuters) - BP confirmed on Thursday it had lobbied the British government in late 2007 over a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with Libya because it was concerned a slow resolution would impact an offshore drilling deal with Libya.
"BP told the UK government that we were concerned about the slow progress that was being made in concluding a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with Libya," BP said in a statement on Thursday.
"We were aware that this could have a negative impact on UK commercial interests, including the ratification by the Libyan government of BP's exploration agreement."
BP said, however, it was not involved in discussions regarding the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdel Basset al-Megrahi.
"The decision to release al-Megrahi in August 2009 was taken by the Scottish government. It is not for BP to comment on the decision of the Scottish government. BP was not involved in any such discussions about the release of al-Megrahi," it said.

So there we have it, not an outright admission but enough to make a case for Big Business taking over the running of OUR COUNTRY and it's ability to turn our judical system on it's head.
As this short article make sit clear that BP have been able to affect the "Prisoner release scheme" in regards to Libyan prisoners held in British prisons.
We now have a De-Facto Government run by "BIG BUSINESS". That's why OUR LAWS and sentences are meaningless , OUR COUNTRY, it's LAND and PEOPLE mean NOTHING to Multi-National companies like BP, who can influence British Governments to disregard it's requirements to look after the People and Culture of this land.
Is it not time we took control of OUR COUNTRY ?
