An interesting read this; it's a short essay yet manages to get some very interesting points and facts across....whether you agree with the renown American author/journalist David L Brown take or remedy on the issue or not, it doesn't really matter... it's still well worth a read?

WE READILY promote freedom of speech at wigantoday.net............ but certain users are spoiling threads with vile personal attacks, foul language and irrelevent comments.

We want your opinions on OUR STORIES - we don’t want random political comments that have nothing to do with the subject matter or attacks on individuals.

Decent threads are having to be removed because of a few irresponsible people.

If this continues we will have no hesitation in banning individuals from commenting and, if necessary, taking further action.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to have YOUR SAY on all the local stories in the news - please comment responsibly or the facility will be removed.

AFTER FURTHER EVALUATION THE COMMENTING FACILITY ON ALL NEWS STORIES HAS BEEN REMOVED. IT WILL BE REVIEWED IN THE NEAR FUTURE. APOLOGIES TO ALL RESPONSIBLE COMMENTATORS FOR THIS DRASTIC ACTION.

Yesterday, the above message appeared on the Wigan Today on-line rag.

We here at Wigan (& Leigh) Patriot have had many a good discussion, debate and rants on the local political topics on that website and with many of the comments running into the hundreds before the red pen deleter got at them. Then the format changed a little and all future comment contributors had to re-register with a valid e-mail account and address - this was supposedly to eliminate the above mentioned anti-free speech lunatics out there who would hijack these comments to stifle the truth being heard. Now, all of a sudden (?) the plug has been pulled on the comment facility altogether.

Although, the Wigantoday.net profess to "readily support freedom of speech, but certain users are spoiling threads with vile personal attacks, foul language and irrelevent comments."

It seems somewhat strange to me that over the past few years the lunatic left-wing employees at Wigantoday.net have had a carte-blanche attitude to allow vile and derogatory rants and threats against not only my family and me, but, additionally other contributors to this blog including Lanky Patriot, Sir Henry, Silly Kuffar and their families and these threats and insults extended to include our regular visitors to this blog...Britishlady and Freeborn John amongst many more...and yet we have never once complained....and this lack of complaint from us - is because we believe that when such sad individuals need to resort to that level of sub-human and a repulsive lack of moral attitude antics and language we know that we have indeed won the battle both mentally and politically against these sad, very sad socially inept and weak willed cowards .

One of the last posts I submitted was in response to Peter Franzen who had once again had the bleeding audacity to call me a Nazi, which although very tiresome - doesn't bother me one iota. Now, what I did put in the comment was that it was about time that everyone knows who the real Nazi's are in our midst and who are also the same radical Islamic apologists. I put that Peter Franzen and his SS Community Action Party were Nazi's - Respect Party = Nazism, SWP = Nazism, UAF = Nazism, Green Party = Nazism ......etc....etc....etc..... (any new readers to this site why not do a search on this blog and look at the evidence for yourself) We here at WP have done a lot of research recently into these certain groups and exposed them for what the really are!

Obviously, someone at the Wigantoday.net is getting a very twitchy spinchter indeed and are running a little scared that individuals out there are actually awakening to the real truth....of whats actually happening in our locality....which they must stop at all cost...? The truth...MUST NOT.. be heard they collectively froth!

HOW TO STOP A PUBLIC NUISANCE

Several times a week we hear stories of travellors camping illegally on private land or buying land and flouting planning laws as below. Communities seem unable to stop them.
However I feel this indicates that these communities are whimps.
Twice in the last 10 years we have removed these nuisances in our area. The police will not help and only strong action is enough.

On one occasion they were moved on by threatening to block them in. They don't like that.
On the other occasion on our local playing fields the travellers were left in no doubt that their presence on the football pitches would not be tolerated. The police were called and the inspector pleaded with us to step back and not annoy them. We replied that they were annoying us and if they did not move we would get the muckspreader out and use it as we were entitled to do as it was our land.

The inspector , fearing trouble persuaded the travellers to move on.
So there you have it. How to protect your open spaces from this invasion. Go in determined and hard. The police don't want confrontation and will do anything to stop it.
Be soft and see your rights trampled on.

Do not think I am against these people. All we ask is for them to live in houses like the rest of us AND PAY THEIR TAXES.
Also few of them are Romany gypsies. Most are Irish tinkers with large houses in Ireland but who come over here to make cash in hand tax free and leave us to clear the mess they always leave behind.
They are not a minority ethnic and even if they were there should be one law for all.

AN ENGLISHMAN?

The photos below shows what this black "English" footballer thinks of England. He said that "I hate England and the F***ing people".'s Now the BNP is criticised for saying that black people are not ethnically English even though they are born here and are British citizens.
It seems that this overpaid performer with the morals of a tomcat agrees with us.
His saying that he hates the English is an admission that he does not consider himself English in spite of what the P C commentators would have you believe, as he would obviously not hate himself.
This racist outburst against the country which catered for his every need, financial and sexual will of course be ignored by the liberal "elite" as blacks can not be racist according to them.

If one who has benefitted so much from our "racist" society is so against us, how much more do those of foreign origin who have not had his priveliges hate us.
The remedy is in your hands Ashley. We are not forcing you to stay.
Why do you not go and live among people who you do not hate. You have the money, thanks to the fools who watched you play, and while you are at it take anyone else you know who does not like us.Am I allowed to say I hate Afros(I don't as a matter of fact). No, if I did I would be in court next week on racist charges.

In addition to Cole there are thousands to whom we held out the hand of friendship and helped who also hate us. This country, OUR country will never be united when people such as these continually colonise us.

My message to all these English haters--
LOVE US but if you don't LEAVE US! We're better off without you.

SGT STEVEN DARBYSHIRE

The death of Sgt Steven Darbyshire in Afganistan is yet another casualty of that unwinnable and illegal war.
I know it shouldn't affect me any differently from the hundreds of those brave soldiers who have also died but the fact that he was a local lad makes me feel it more. Yes a life is a life and all are equally precious and as sorely missed but I can't help being especially sad when a Wiganer loses his life as a result of government policy.


He will have walked the same streets, visited the same pubs and shops as I have and no doubt been as proud of his town as I am and that seems to give me a bond with him closer than the bond I share with all the other brave lads.
I am proud to have shared our town with him.
I extend my sympathies to his family and my contempt to those who sent him, a man who joined to serve Queen and Country to die in a war waged not in the interests of our country but the interests of global capitalism.

My message to his family. Keep your chins up and remember your hero with pride, as we will.
