THE LABOUR PARTY SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME VIEW OF WIGAN

.
If you trawl Liverpool FC’s unofficial fan forums, it won’t be long before you stumble upon a long thread lamenting the lack of scousers in the squad. Has the city’s talent pool really drained so badly that it’s producing players who aren’t even fit for the subs bench?

You can see shades of this frustration in the backlash over Luciana Berger’s selection as Labour’s candidate for Liverpool Wavertree. Ms Berger is hardly at fault for being young, for harbouring a desire for public service or for possessing qualities which have made her appealing to London’s Labour hierarchy. She may, indeed, prove to be an excellent MP.

But what I read in the exasperated responses to her selection is a refrain I’ve heard many times in & around the Shankly Gates: was there not a single person, in a city of over 400,000 people, who could’ve done as good a job? The city expects an Emlyn Hughes or a Jamie Carragher – someone who, at some level, can understand & relate to the culture & traditions of the people they serve.

In my experience, scousers are no more insular than the inhabitants of any other large town or city. But they do possess a distinctive history and culture which they are deeply proud of and enjoy sharing with the rest of the world. They deserve – like every constituency in the country deserves – an MP who can recall this rich history, revel in its traditions and understand the hopes and fears of the people they wish to represent.

Really, this post isn’t even about Luciana Berger; a similar piece could’ve been written about David or Ed Miliband, Ed Balls or Yvette Cooper.

But her selection will only increase the sense that Labour regards the role of MP as some glorified graduate trainee programme, and sees constituencies as regional call centres, expected to dilligently enact the faxed dictats from central office.

One argument made by opponents of proportional representation is that it would remove the link between an MP and his/her constituents, yet they never stop to recognise that, thanks to the centralising of political parties, this link is already reaching the end of its tether.

Perhaps the defeat of Ms Berger would send a symbolic – but important – message from Liverpool to London that the days of carpetbagging must end if Labour is to re-establish itself with what was once its heartlands.

http://liberalconspiracy.org/2010/02/07/the-rise-of-labours-new-class/

I  always thought that the M.P. of - for example - Wigan represented the people of Wigan to central government rather than, as seems to be current practice, representing central government to the people of Wigan. That the Labour party has selected a carpetbagger as the Labour election candidate demonstrates fully what THEIR attitude is.

... Sensing an ill wind a-blowin’, it seems our MPs are worriedly wondering “you don’t suppose there’s something wrong with us, do you?”

MPs are planning a year-long investigation into the complexion of the Commons amid worries that its members are seen as a narrow, self-serving elite who bear no relation to the population as a whole.

...take a hard look at the Cabinet and you’ll find an eye-watering number of people who have either nothing to do with their constituencies, have had no ‘real world’ work experience outside of politics, or are some spoilt combination of the two.

David & Ed Miliband have both spent most of their working lives as New Labour technocrats, and despite having no real bonds with those areas, were parachuted into the safe working class consituencies of South Shields & Doncaster North. I doubt Ed Balls could’ve found his Normanton constituency on a map before he became its MP, likewise James Purnell in Stalybridge or Yvette Cooper in Pontefract. Andy Burnham at least had a passing familiarity with the people of Leigh, but even he’s been a party apparatchik for all his working life.

Of course, it’s understandable that Labour would want those they consider their ‘brightest stars’ to be flown into extremely safe (and invariably working class) seats, but each time they do so, they take the job away from someone who maybe could’ve represented those constituencies better.

 ... constituents have to:

Make do with someone who doesn’t really know the area and can’t, with the best will in the world, relate to the needs, fears & aspirations of the people he represents. When this is reproduced on a large scale, all you’re left with is
an incestuous, self-perpetuating political class that speaks in a language nobody else in the country can relate to, and that’s not going to re-connect the public with politics.

MORE (so much that I can't cover it all)

Harriet Harman was facing Labour fury last night over claims that she briefly suspended her support for all-women shortlists – so her husband can land a safe Commons seat.

Ms Harman, 59, who has led the party’s drive to swell the number of its female MPs, was mysteriously absent from a key meeting which decided not to impose an all-women list in Birmingham Erdington.

The seat, which had a Labour majority of nearly 10,000 at the last election, is being lined up for Ms Harman’s husband, union boss Jack Dromey.

Birmingham Erdington, the seat about to be vacated by none other than Sion Simon, who's girlfriend is none other than Luciana Berger. Now Luciana has not only been parachuted into Liverpool but she was lucky enough to land in an All Womans Shortlist as well.
... regarding the Lovely Luciana and she makes a quite interesting point -

How can a young woman who arrived with her carpetbag fresh from the metropolitan political elite begin to represent such a rich tapestry of history. I wrote recently of her boyfriend, Sion Simon’s attempts to fill the boots of the mayoral tradition, it seems the pair of them are on some ‘fast-track’ ministerial promotion programme, masterminded by the Nu-Labour, to bolster the ranks of the Balls and Milibands.

Over the past few days, Mr Dromey has joined protests in Birmingham over the controversial sale of Cadbury to the American company Kraft.

It led one union fixer involved in the Dromey campaign to comment: ‘Have you noticed Jack’s sudden interest in chocolate?’

Last night, a long-standing Labour critic of Ms Harman’s equality crusade said: ‘It stinks to high heaven. Harriet is obsessed with all-women candidate lists, insisting that winnable seats should go to the sisterhood, but suddenly she goes missing so that Jack can join her in the House.’

In the real world a stink is nothing but a bad smell. A bad smell tells you there is a problem. Smelling shit in your garden tells you your drains are blocked. Smelling burnt toast means your toaster is fucked. A smell is nothing more than an indicator that something deeper and more dangerous is going wrong.

In medicine a bad smell means something is rotten, diseased or dying. In medicine if someone smells something bad they look for the source of this smell. They will identify the source, and then attempt to treat it. If that fails they will do everything within their powers to remove the source of the infection.

Sadly, in politics, this is not the case. In politics people will produce air freshners and face masks to protect themselves from the stink. They will try to banish the smell without seeking it's source.

In the world of stocks, shares and finance this 'stink' would be classed as 'Insider Trading'. In the world of business this 'stink' would be classed as Nepotism. In the world of Westminster this 'stink' is classed as Politics.

THOUGHTS ON WIGAN CANDIDATES

The candidates named thus far to replace the useless thieving Neil Turner as Wigan's MP make interesting reading.

The first announced was the Tory candidate Mike Winstanley.
Now Mike is a decent sort of chap but his history betrays an ambition, not to represent Wigan but to continue up the greasy Tory pole to a safe seat.
He knows Wigan is a hopeless cause for him but he must stand in order to attain a safe Tory seat in the future.
He has stood in previous elections in two other areas, Blackpool and Bury.
This shows his allegience to the Tories before the people of any of these constituencies. Even if he were elected it is obvious he would toe the line and put party before constituency.
It must be hard for Mike to have to stake his future on a party which has not yet decided what its policies are.

Do they cut spending or not? What are their plans to resurrect British industry?
Is Cameron a Labour clone? He stated a few years ago he was "Tony Blair mark 2". Why does he not say this now?
His latest inspiration at a time when our country is going bankrupt (as predicted by Nick Griffin 4 years ago) is to allow thousands of homosexual Africans to come here to escape persecution in their own countries (and bring with them their AIDS to be treated at our expense). Why can they not go to other African countries where there lifestyle is tolerated?
Why did he renage on his promise of a referendum on the EU?. Why does he refuse to come out of Afganistan?
The Tories under this fool have no policies, and what few they have they change every few weeks.
The only thing in their favour is that they are not New Labour, but that is not reason enough to vote for them.

The Labour candidate is an attractive young woman and obviously considered on message and sharp enough to be useful to the Labour Party so that they parachuted her into this safe seat.
BUT SHE IS NOT A WIGANER.

She is a young inexperienced carpet bagger with no interest in Wigan other than as a ticket to the Westminster trough. She would be "lobby fodder" voting for the party line rather than the interests of our town.
Voting for her would be for a continuance of the disastrous fiscal and social policies New Labour have lumbered us with. She looks intelligent but if she were she would have no truck with a so incompetent and venal party which has comprehensively betrayed ite core vote. so she is not as clever as she might have led herself to believe.
Of course if you put a pig up for MP in Wigan with a red rosette they would be elected (they did last time) as changing voting habits is often difficult even when the policies of their party changes out of recognition.

The UKIP candidate Alan Freeman it seems is standing in two constituencies. Is UKIP so small?
perhaps it is an indication of the smallness of their policies which apart from a vague promise to distance itself from the EU and limit immigration to the numbers of people leaving this country are non existant.
This latter policy would indicate that they would be happy if the British population were replaced by foreign people and it would be OK if the population of the country stayed the same.
They will get the usual hype by the media as an alternative to our party in spite of their lack of policies.

I don't as yet know about other Wigan candidates so can't comment but the above, in standing for their chosen parties do not give me much confidence, but then there is only one party which would always put the interests of Wiganers first and that is the BNP.

Voting Irregularities ?

This is a short clip of what looks like some very dodgy practices at the Irish Referendum Count at Cork City Hall.

Video taken at Cork City hall Ireland during Irish Referendum ballot box deliveries to the central ballot count center showing a man removing a ballot box from where they were to be stored to be ready for the referendum count next morning

Did the Irish Republic vote NO on the EU but still got a YES ?

If both the Local and General Elections happen on the same day, this could well happen here.

Glossary of Islamic Terms

Ijara
Ijara is a form of leasing. It involves a contract where the bank buys and then leases an item – perhaps a consumer durable, for example – to a customer for a specified rental over a specific period. The duration of the lease, as well as the basis for rental, are set and agreed in advance. Islamic Bank of Britain retains ownership of the item throughout the arrangement and takes back the item at the end.

Ijara-wa-iktana
Ijara-wa-iktana is similar to Ijara, except that included in the contract is a promise from the customer to buy the equipment at the end of the lease period, at a pre-agreed price. Rentals paid during the period of the lease constitute part of the purchase price. Often, as a result, the final sale will be for a token sum.

Ijara with diminishing Musharaka
The principle of Ijara with diminishing Musharaka can be used for home-buying services. Diminishing Musharaka means that we reduce our equity in an asset with any additional capital payment you make, over and above your rental payments. Your ownership in the asset increases and ours decreases by a similar amount each time you make an additional capital payment. Ultimately, we transfer ownership of the asset entirely over to you.

Mudaraba
Mudaraba refers to an investment on your behalf by a more skilled person. It takes the form of a contract between two parties, one who provides the funds and the other who provides the expertise and who agree to the division of any profits made in advance. In other words, Islamic Bank of Britain would make Sharia compliant investments and share the profits with the customer, in effect charging for the time and effort. If no profit is made, the loss is borne by the customer and Islamic Bank of Britain takes no fee.

Mudarib
In a Mudaraba contract, the expert who manages the investment is known as a Mudarib.

Murabaha
Murabaha is a contract for purchase and resale and allows the customer to make purchases without having to take out a loan and pay interest. Islamic Bank of Britain purchases the goods for the customer, and re-sells them to the customer on a deferred basis, adding an agreed profit margin. The customer then pays the sale price for the goods over instalments, effectively obtaining credit without paying interest.

Musharaka
Musharaka means partnership. It involves you placing your capital with another person and both sharing the risk and reward. The difference between Musharaka arrangements and normal banking is that you can set any kind of profit sharing ratio, but losses must be proportionate to the amount invested.

Qard
A Qard is a loan, free of profit. We use this arrangement for our Current Accounts. In essence, it means that your Current Account is a loan to the bank, which is used by the bank for investment and other purposes. Obviously it has to be paid back to you, in full, on demand.

Riba
Riba means interest, which is prohibited in Islamic law. Any risk-free or guaranteed interest on a loan is considered to be usury.

Wakala
Wakala is an agency contract, which usually includes in its terms a fee for the expertise of the agent. We may use it for our large Deposit accounts: you own the capital invested, you appoint us as your agent and pay a fee for our expertise.

We now have SHARIA COURTS and SHARIA BANKING.
Not long now before the full implementation of Sharia Law within the British Legal and Financial System.
And due to Brown and Blairs TREASON don't be surprised if we are indebted to Islamic/Sharia Monetary systems.
The Banks have Collapsed and are busily dividing up their share of the "QUANTATIVE EASING", that Darling- Brown initiative to give away vast sums of British Taxpayers and the Nations Wealth to proven CHEATS, LIARS, and THIEVES.

SO WHAT IS THE COMMON PURPOSE OF COMMON PURPOSE?

NEW CARE SYSTEM ABUSE SENSATION: HOW EXACTLY WOULD VETTING & BARRING HAVE CAUGHT THIS MAN, MR BALLS?

The Slog has argued for over a year now that Britain's Care System is compromised by paedophiles already in it. Over that time, Liverpool, Staffordshire and Plymouth have been identified as areas where it is felt to be rife.

While the madness of 12 million citizens being vetted and barred continues, a new case in Liverpool suggests yet again that dangerous predators are already in the system.

Matthew Byrne faces 32 charges of rape, assault by penetration and false imprisonment.

He is accused of sex attacks on seven different women, and in some cases is alleged to have beaten the women with a cane, gagged, and throttled them for sexual pleasure - says the Liverpool Echo.

Byrne ran the Young Person’s Advisory Service, working with children as young as 10, and was an area organizer for the shadowy organization Common Purpose. CP hastily removed Mr Byrne’s name from their list of area organizers once the charges were announced.

Byrne is another potential case of a senior care-system position being used to indulge in various perverted practices. He is also a classic case in having high connections:

Heseltine and Cameron (above) with Big Cheese

This is how it happens, Ed Balls. Secretive Courts, secretive organisations, gagging orders and cover-ups. Please, please close down your Twitter account, get off your ample bottom - and do something. A lot less V & B security blankets, and a lot more real police work, if you please.

The Slog has devoted many articles over time to this problem. While some conspiracy theories in this area are lunatic fringe to say the least, the history of false imprisonment and trumped up charges against parents is a long one.

"Another minister under fire: call for Hodge to quit over child abuse scandal

Minister for Children admits a ‘lack of understanding’ when she was a council leader but denies ignoring pleas for help

By Paul Waugh, Deputy Political Editor

Tuesday, 1 July 2003

Independent Minds

The Tories called for the resignation of Margaret Hodge, the minister for Children, last night after social workers accused her of failing to confront one of Britain’s worst child abuse scandals when she was leader of Islington council.

The Tories called for the resignation of Margaret Hodge, the minister for Children, last night after social workers accused her of failing to confront one of Britain’s worst child abuse scandals when she was leader of Islington council.

Two former officials at the London borough have claimed publicly for the first time that Mrs Hodge failed to back them over allegations that youngsters in care had been subjected to sex abuse. The scandal was first exposed by the London Evening Standard.

Mrs Hodge admitted yesterday that she had shown a “deep lack of understanding” of what was happening in children’s homes run by Islington.

But she insisted she had never ignored a single allegation of abuse against a child and her experience in Islington made her “well equipped” to learn the lessons of past mistakes and apply them to her new post.

Yesterday, the Evening Standard printed a memo from Mrs Hodge rejecting a request for extra staff from the local office running an investigation into abuse. She also criticised social workers for alerting parents to the allegations at a public meeting.

The fresh allegations prompted Eleanor Laing, the new shadow minister for Children, to attack Tony Blair for appointing one of his close friends to such a sensitive post.

“I don’t see how anyone can have faith in Margaret Hodge to do this vitally important job properly. The allegations made today by the two senior Islington social workers are shocking. Islington council failed to protect children in its care from paedophiles, Margaret Hodge was leader of that council,” Ms Laing said.

“She herself has accepted some responsibility for the dreadful things that happened. She let down those vulnerable, innocent children. Why has Tony Blair chosen her to speak for children now? There are hundreds of other Labour MPs; couldn’t he have given this responsibility to someone who has shown themselves worthy of it?”

One paedophile, Roy Caterer, a sports instructor at a boarding school used by Islington, was sent to prison for seven and a half years for abusing seven boys and two girls. In 1995, an independent investigation strongly criticised the “chaotic” organisation of the council and its “conditions for dangerous and negligent professional practices in relation to child care”.

When the Evening Standard first exposed the scandal, Mrs Hodge, who led Islington from 1982 to 1992, originally attacked it for “gutter journalism”. But by 1995, she said: “I accept responsibility. I was leader of the council at the time.”

Yesterday the newspaper identified the two whistleblowers who revealed the failures at Islington, as well as one of the victims of sex abuse.

Michael Fitch, who was subjected to abuse by Caterer while in Islington’s care, also called on Mrs Hodge to quit. “That woman. Get her out of there. She shouldn’t be minister for Children. I’d like to tell her to her face,” he said.

Mrs Hodge, whose new ministerial role gives her sweeping powers over child policy, including abuse cases, yesterday said that she “deeply regretted” the abuse of children by her staff. “I’ve had 12 years to think about those issues, to read about them, to talk to people about them, to learn about them,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

“I think that equips me better than most, having been through that experience, in thinking about how we now create a safe environment for those children at risk, and really put the children at the heart of all the policies and the structures that we develop.

“There were terrible things happening in children’s homes, and I deeply, deeply, deeply regret it. Never a month goes by when I don’t think about it.”

But she added: “Of course it was happening in Islington, but there were 500 investigations going on into children’s homes across the country. I think there was a deep lack of understanding, by myself, by the social services, by policy makers, by all of us as to actually the state of what was happening in children’s homes.”

Mrs Hodge stressed that whenever an allegation was brought to her attention, the council investigated it and in some cases called in the police. “We can’t find an easy quick fix to these issues. But have I learnt? Of course I have. And I’ll bring that experience to bear in how we now take forward those services for children,” she said.

Mr Fitch, who was identified as “Dean” in the original Standard stories, was in care from the age of nine to 19, the latter half during Mrs Hodge’s reign. He twice tried to tell Islington social services that he was being abused by Caterer at Shepall Manor Special School in Stevenage. “Caterer took me to the woods at the back of the school one lunchtime and had sex with me,” Mr Fitch said. “Afterwards, he showed me a nine-foot pit he had dug and told me, ‘If you tell anybody I’ll bury you alive’. I was terrified.” Despite the threats, he went to the headteacher but was ignored. When back in Islington in the school holidays, he “begged” social workers not to send him back. “But nothing was done.”

Even after he left the school and went to a care home in Islington, Caterer continued to visit him. Again, he told social workers he was being abused and again they “did nothing”.

“Nothing I told them seemed to make an impression. I realised that to them I was meaningless. That’s when I started to cut my arm with a knife,” Mr Fitch said. Mr Fitch’s eight-year-old brother, Doug, was subsequently harassed by Caterer. Mr Fitch now takes antidepressants, is plagued by gender confusion, panic attacks and insomnia. He has tried to commit suicide more than a dozen times.

THE ISLINGTON SCANDAL

1982 Margaret Hodge becomes Islington council leader. Forms friendship with Tony Blair, at one stage living a few doors away.

February 1990 Liz Davies and David Cofie, senior social workers, discover evidence of sex abuse of children and report it to a residents’ meeting attended by Mrs Hodge.

May 1990 Mr Cofie and Ms Davies are told by Lyn Cusack, assistant director of social services, to stop interviewing children about the claims.

1991 Roy Caterer, a sports instructor at a boarding school used by Islington, arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing seven boys and two girls.

October 1992 Mrs Hodge steps down as council leader.

February 1994 Mrs Hodge accepts there was abuse, blaming her initial response on officials’ “misleading information”.

May 1995 Report says Islington’s ideological policies stopped complaints being investigated. Mrs Hodge says: “Of course I accept responsibility. I was leader of the council at the time.”

1 May 1997 Tony Blair moves from Islington to Downing Street.

June 2003 Mrs Hodge made minister for Children.

Jason Swift

In 1985, 14-year-old Jason Swift was killed by a child-abuse gang.

Jason is believed to have lived in Islington council’s Conewood Street children’s home, in London. (Jersey child abuse link to Islington, London)

Sidney Cooke, Leslie Bailey, Robert Oliver, and Lennie Smith, were imprisoned in 1989 for the manslaughter of Jason Swift.

Cooke and his gang had sexually tortured and prostituted a number of boys.

The gang is believed to have killed at least nine children.[2]

Cooke was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

In 1998, Cooke was let out of prison eight years early.

There have been allegations that very powerful people have been involved in a child-abuse ring connected to Islington children’s homes. ( Jersey child abuse link to Islington, London)

In 1982 Margaret Hodge (nee Oppenheimer) became Islington council leader.

She became a close friend of Tony Blair, who lived in Islington, a few doors away from Hodge.

In February 1990 Liz Davies and David Cofie, senior social workers, discovered evidence of sex abuse of children and reported it to a residents’ meeting attended by Mrs Hodge.

In May 1990 Mr Cofie and Ms Davies were told by Lyn Cusack, assistant director of social services, to stop interviewing children about the abuse claims.

On 1 May 1997 Tony Blair moved from Islington to Downing Street.

In June 2003 Mrs Hodge was made minister for Children. (Another minister under fire: call for Hodge to quit over child …)

PANIC IN BARKING

Nick Griffin's decision to stand against Margaret Hodge really seems to have ruffled her feathers.
She is now to some degree copying BNP policies which she has up to now deemed racist, and recognising the resentment of voters in the unfettered immigration policies of her government and their treatment of British people as seciond class citizens.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1248364/Margaret-Hodge-says-migrants-EARN-benefits-takes-BNP.html

She says it is time "to lance the boil" of growing discontent over the wave of economic migrants entering our country.
No Margaret it is time to "lance the boil" of New Labour your corrupt party which has presided over the most disastrous demographic changes in 10,000 years of British history for purely party reasons, not to mention bankrupting the country while borrowing £billions to give away in foreign aid and the EU.

If you did not see this self inflicted disaster you should have, or were you shielded from people's views by your draconian PC speech laws which prevented people from speaking out for fear of being criminalised for being "racist"?
To paraphrase Nick Griffin "you can prevent us from speaking out but you can not control the way we think"
Your "vibrant, diverse multicultural society" is turning to bite you on your fat bottom which has been thus far shielded from reality by your champagne socialist lifestyle paid for by us.

You had no mandate to impose these changes on us and have sought to silence us by dubious legal practices and depriving us of our historical right to free speech.
Now you and your slimy party will reap the whirlwind and slither into oblivion.
It seems however you may just survive as the Tories have offered you a lifeline (how ironic a loony lefty like you being offered help by the Tories) It just shows how alike, treacherous and anti British both your parties are.

After the next election and the Tories get in they will be no better as their policies are identical to yours and our support will grow as a result.
The following election will be our BIG breakthrough when we will be able to begin the task of rebuilding our country culturally and financially.

The danger is that civil unrest will lead to conflict between the multiple groups and allegiances you have encouraged here, as you can't have a united and a diverse country at the same time. They are incompatible at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Let's hope the people have enough patience to go through the coming hard times until a party, the BNP which has the interests of the British people as a priority comes to power.

In the meantime, even without MPs we are having an influence on government thinking even if it is only an attempt to save their subsidised skins.

A BNP vote is thus proved again to be worth more than a vote for any other party as it really makes them sit up even if we do not get in.
