CONFERENCE REPORT.

I am still recovering after a superb conference. Unfortunately we were unable to stay, entailing travelling both days.
Three of us went from Wigan, Me, Susan and Chris Hilton, Gary Chadwick unfortunately being ill.

It was a great pleasure to meet old friends again in the usual friendly and civilised atmosphere prevailing at Conference.
The Saturday was as usual taken up with training seminars and we learnt much about leaflet design, computer use and public speaking. All seminars were presented in an interesting manner, there was no danger of falling asleep but now my job is to remember and put into practice what I learnt.

A full schedule prevented us from attending all the seminars and by "close of play" on Saturday we returned home too tired to even read the paper, knowing we had to be up first thing to return for the debates.
An excellent innovation this year was the proceedings being broadcast on the computer and for a short time before retiring to bed I was able to see what I was missing in the evenings entertainment on the computer.

In the early afternoon the usual march past of assorted deadlegs went by and as usual were ignored. If they were shouting slogans they were wasting their time as they were inaudible inside the hotel. It must be frustrating for them to travel so far to walk past drawn curtains and get no response but the sea air possibly cleared their heads from the effects of the previous day's drugs.

Following Sunday service conducted by Rev West the debates started.
The first motion, put by the chairman which basically stated that we should preserve our national assets and free ourselved from the stranglehold of the banks in order to develop British industry was carried unanimously.

Most motions were carried either unanimously or overwhelmingly indeed it was difficult in some cases to find people to oppose them. That is not to say there was no debate and several amendments were added.
As usual anyone who wished to make a point had the opportunity to do so and the different slants on options alerted us to aspects and implications we had not considered.
For me this is the pleasure of these occasions, being stimulating intellectually and thought providing.
The standard of debate was as good or better than ever and the fact that it was broadcast live showed the confidence of the Party in the quality of its delegates. I did not realise at the time it was being broadcast and was somewhat taken aback when Gary Chadwick said he saw me speak from the comfort of his home. I hope I did not say anything untoward and let Wigan down.
I found myself thinking during the debate whether the other parties could have debated publicly in such an intelligent and civilised manner.
One motion concerning the "Bill of Rights" and the Monarchy was defeated.

As usual, following the debates we were treated to the closing speech by the Chairman who entered the hall to the strains of the hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers" which I thought was very apt. Whatever our individual beliefs we have been formed by the Christian tenets and our laws and society built on them and the singing of the hymn was a demonstration of our British unity.

Nick's speech was as usual inspiring. He referred to the way the banks had become the masters and not the servants of the country and the greed and profligacy perpetrated by them had and would hit all members of our society(apart from the mega rich) and would impact severely on the poor.
He prophesied that we would continue our progress and in a way the financial disaster caused by Brown would help people to see that we are the only party committed to the prosperity of all in our country.
The meeting closed with the usual emotional rendering of "Jerusalem" which always brings tears to my eyes.

LEIGH MEETING

I was privelidged together with Paul Rimmer to speak at the inaugural meeting of the Leigh branch of Wigan group BNP.
It was a fantastic venue which we easily filled. The response was overwhelming. Never have I seen such enthusiasm shown by people who were not Party members to our message. Many application forms for membership were distributed and addresses taken for future information.

New venues were offered for larger meetings which I am sure we will need in the future if the enthusiasm of last night is anything to go by.
There seemed to be a hunger for a party to represent the interests of ordinary people who feel betrayed by the existing major parties, and who up till now had swallowed the false propaganda about the BNP peddled by the media.
We demonstrated, or tried to that we are not the ogres painted by the press but ordinary people frustrated and annoyed at having our needs ignored and our democracy stolen by those whose only interest in politics is their own financial gain rather than the prosperity of the people and the future of the country.

To me the meeting was a tonic and boosted my determination to continue the good fight,--for our country and people.

We are hoping to build another group in Leigh which up to now has been somewhat neglected but we have information that there is a growing support in the town. We are seeking to counter the misinformation about our party put out by the media, which has it's own agenda to deprive the people of the truth.
We aim to demonstrate the way we have been denied our democratic rights and suggest ways to restore it.

This month is Black history month. All I could find on the internet is the picture below.
Can someone please help. There must be more to it than this. I have made a start with some typical buildings. Will somebody fill in the rest of the history below.

THE MORALITY OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR OWN

For every reference in this article to America and American leaders, just substitute Britain and British leaders.

You wont find much to disagree with. I certainly don’t.

“The moral obligation of an American leader is to look after the well-being of the people of the United States. The moral obligation of a Russian leader is to look after the well-being of the people of Russia. A leader of either country who fails to do these things is acting immorally.

President Bush has acted immorally towards his own people.It is arguable that Vladimir Putin has acted in a more moral fashion with respect to his own people than George W. Bush or Bill Clinton has with respect to Americans. This is because the forty-second and forty-third presidents of the United States placed “international law” ahead of the welfare of Americans.

Not to see this is to be obtuse.

It doesn’t mean that Vladimir Putin is a good person. It doesn’t mean that he hasn’t acted cynically (and against American interests) in Iran and other places. It doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been brutal.

It means that he has taken care of his own.”

BOYCOTT UNPATRIOTIC SAINSBURYS

People may have seen in the papers or on the BNP website that the boss of Sainsburys has said that buying British food is "simplistic".
I have always noticed that Sainsbury's food adverts have for a long time promoted foreign produce and have avoided them for that reason.
During the farmers protests a few years ago against poor prices paid by the supermarkets we were treated with sympathy and courtesy by other firms. Sainsbury's depot at Haydock however had police in full riot gear with a spotter helicopter and several farmers were lucky not to be run over by a lorry driven by the manager. This was a complete over reaction against protesting farmers who neither did nor threatened violence.

Contrast this with the pussy footing by the police when controlling the anarchist mob outside the RWB in August.
I think this excessive police presence was because Lord Sainsbury was a big Labour donor.
We need a viable food industry in this overpopulated country and firms such as Sainsburys are doing their best to destroy it.
Because of the experience mentioned above I vowed never to shop at their stores again .
I have always suspected that they had a policy of purchasing foreign produce in preference to British and now it has been confirmed.
The boss says purchasing British produce is "simplistic"

I say shopping at Sainsbury's is unpatriotic and definitely simplistic as their prices are much dearer than other supermarkets.

So do your patriotic duty---BOYCOTT SAINSBURY'S, and save money at the same time.
